TRUMP AT CPAC: A CALL TO ARMS!

As an old history teacher, this entire sequence reminds me of the early Hitler years.....  and the role of his initial failure and jailing - when he wrote Mein Kamph (1925). He was later released, built up a support "cast" with propaganda and an enemy target set - Jews and the European nations who drafted the Treaty of Versailles that ended WWI.  Martin Bormann, Hess, Eichmann, Goebbels, Himmler, Goering and the Gestapo and others....  built a propaganda machine - (MAGA - Make Aryans Great Again) - along with a series of events that built up his support with angry battles in the street (Beer Hall Putsch of the 20s... and later, the burning of the Capitol Building - the Reichstag - 1930s).  Law and Order, economic recovery, and the advance of Aryan Germany (or is it Make Aryans German Again - MAGA?) was set against Communists in Russia, the other European nations, and the Jews.....  

In Trump's case, January 6th was the action against Congress and the Capitol Building, Muslims, immigrants and men and women of color - Black, Latin, Asian - were and are all targets of hatred that gather together the KKK with the 3-Percenters, Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, Q-Anon, and more.... Remember Charlottesville and the "Jews will not replace us" march with torches?  Recall the outright tens-of-thousands of Trump LIES?  And, needless to say, the BIG LIE???

                          STOP THE STEAL????  MAGA - Make America Great Again?                      

My guess is that the Trump plan was designed from the Hitler rise... MAGA = MAGA... and the take-over of the German Parliament... from Chancellor to his own selected title - Der Fuhrer!  The Dictator!  In Trump's case, from President to LEADER!  The German translation of "Leader" is FUHRER.... understood as being in a position of ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY.  His plan is to mirror Putin, the Saudi King, and the North Korean "Leader."

Needless to say, I cannot prove any of this.... but, if Hitler's book is on the Trump bed-stand, that would be enough for me.....  and - right now - Trump is planning for the FOURTH REICH...... 

THE BIG LIE - STOP THE STEAL!!! 

This will be the basis of his attempted return to power.... press on the "Stop the Steal" gas to  energize his version of the SS and Brown Shirt gangs.... fueled by his threats and collected donations to "restore America and MAGA! Don't need to wear a military uniform as Hitler did - just a uniform of a long red tie and a red MAGA HAT! In the meanwhile, at the state legislative level - though he did not win any cases filed, the move is to tighten the laws and reduce the number of votes that come from those who do not support his policies or his person..... The goal?  Destroy his opponents - including Republicans - and re-install his "royal family" into the White House and at the policy switch... or... is it the nuclear button?

 Meanwhile, after his remarks and attack at CPAC this weekend, and a failure to attack the Capitol and burn the "Reichstag" come March at the "State of the Union" date, Trump escapes to a location that does not have an extradition treaty with the US... say, Cuba....  with millions from sold "pardons and commutations" in his pocket...  to launch a Trump Cuba Casino and MAGA CASTRO Golf Center providing protection for him and his family....  Maybe he switches planes and flies to Moscow (MAGA - Make Moscow Great Again?) for yet another business transaction with Melania doing the translation for him.... or, a Saudi Arabia re-location for not having that Royal Leader "annoyed" or arrested for the Khashoggi murder in the US... and Melania in a string bikini...... 

Or, will he stay here, invent yet another right-wing media combo - internet, radio, cable TV, and a new Network?  Will he pursue a roll as the "Leader of the Pack" spreading venom, hatred, racism, and insane lie after lie to follow the Hitler pattern, write "Mine Camp", not "Mein Kampf", sell brown shirts and jack boots and raise cult kids in Trump Camps?  Is this his Majesty Trump as "Hitler" - phase two?  Fourth Reich? Position himself to issue large doses of propaganda - over and over - build an armed cult following  (SS), preparing to run again in 2024?  Build a new Trump Tsunami that will wash away the Congress and install a new Chancellor-in-Charge? A Dictator? A monster? Dur Fuhrer? And, dismantle our Democracy? 

The NEW CPAC "Battle Flag-Stage". Does it remind you of something else?   

A Century from now, will the history books record the evaporation of the United States.... and the disappearance of democracy that devolved in a similar fashion to the Roman Empire? Will new wars and civil unrest break out both here and around the globe? Will we witness a re-shuffle the nations and their boundaries once again?  A re-design of international trade, wealth and riches, as well as poverty and death? Such events always happen historically.... in the far East, Africa, Latin America, and - after World War II - in Europe.  The USSR collapsed in the 1980 and those borders and nations have changed since then..... Is this now - in the 21st Century - OUR TURN - North America???

Now re-located in Florida, Trump ducks NY State indictments for tax fraud, bank fraud, and charge after Civil charge. The plan is to jam up the courts with appeal after appeal after appeal to keep the dogs back for decades, if he can. He will argue that the US Government must defend him for acts as president.... Nonsense.  So, I guess he will need to rely on his "BILLIONS" in wealth?  Wait a minute... doesn't he have loans outstanding that are on a short fuse?  2-4 years?  $500 million to $1 Billion as recently reported? Where will all this cash come from?  How to pay the legal fees for multiple suits - both criminal and civil????  

Next, on the financial side, comes bankruptcy as banks and other companies abandon this guy.... He is already in an ocean of RED INK... and is being pursued by the Scottish Government on fraud charges attached to his golf course there.... As bad, his "tax audit" being conducted by the IRS has been released as charges have been levelled involving federal and state tax fraud and bank fraud. SNAKE OIL will be revealed, arrests made, charges attached, and criminal and civil cases commenced.  This will become quite the "show." And, can we get things done and progress made while this outrage continues????

The time has come to stand up for truth, justice and our democracy - rule by the many and not the few. Stand up for our voters and our electoral system - and against lies, fraud, and a re-write of our history.  In 2020, all 50 states - under their adopted voting rules and regulations - re-counted all votes cast time and again, certified the results, appointed their Electors as proportioned and required by the US Constitution, and defended themselves against fraudulent Trump suits filed.  More than 60 legal actions were brought - and Trump lost them all, including two in front of HIS Court - the Supreme Court of the United States - with a Republican Chief Justice, a Republican-appointed majority, and three Justices appointed by Trump.  Nevertheless, without dissent, the SCOTUS ruled that all 50 states complied with law and the Constitution - 27 Republican-led states and 23 Democratic-led states. And, that no voter fraud was demonstrated or evidence of fraud submitted. TRUMP LOST! And, in the popular vote, Trump lost to Biden by more than 7,000,000 votes! 

The Trump preference is to BURN the US Constitution, remove ANY who oppose his "rule", re-write the laws and require "obedience" to his "Executive Orders." Like his corporations and companies, his rule is compliance or elimination... How do we watch?  What should we do? Stay tuned...... to "Dur Fuhrer".....

FEBRUARY 10, 2021: Day 1: And, so... the IMPEACHMENT TRIAL gets underway..... The House "Managers" present today..... and need to "educate" the Republican Senators - at least 17 of them all - to join with the Democratic Members of the US Senate - all 50 - to get to the 2/3rds required for Impeachment. Quite the challenge...... Tune in..... and do not drop out.... 

FEBRUARY 11, 2021: So unfolds Day 2: Massive evidence presented... photos, video, reports, and conclusions. Tweet after tweet after tweet - instructions to the rioting mob.... "cheering" from the "Owner's Box" at the White House.... as the destruction grows and lives are lost.... Summoned by Trump in support of "the BIG LIE"... and encouraging violence and insurrection... and the rejection of the decision made by the American Voter.... as reflected in the certified vote totals and Electoral Votes from each of the 50 states - 27 LED BY REPUBLICAN GOVERNORS - 23 LED BY DEMOCRATS. All 50 states - regardless of political party "stripe" - certified and reported the results as required by the US Constitution - not the Trump "play book." Vice President Pence refused Trump's request to violate the law and the Constitution. Trump voiced unhappy disappointment and assigned "failure" by Pence. 

Q-Anon and other violent radicals  march....

Violence erupts..... lives lost.... destruction an insurrection takes place at the Capitol.... and planned, funded, encouraged, and urged on by Donald J. Trump for months and throughout the day - January 6th, 2021. More than 140 injuries occur - broken bones, a lost eye, brain injuries, stab wounds.... as the seditious mob surges forward.  Braking down barriers, smashing windows, destroying documents, furniture, doorways, and relics of the American Past.  Q-Anon, the Boogaloos, Proud Boys, Racists and White Supremacists march on the Citadel of Democracy - our nation's Capitol and symbol of freedom.  Blood spills and lives are lost.... But the "search and destroy" strategy seeking Mike Pence, Nancy Pelosi, and others fails.... due to the efforts of the Capitol Police and the DC PD.  The National Guard is held back from engagement by Trump - the Commander and Chief - for hours as the riot rages on.... And, finally, Federal Troops arrive under the orders of Vice President Pence, Speaker Pelosi, Leader Schumer and their Minority Leader counterparts - BUT NOT AUTHORIZED BY PRESIDENT-FOR-A-FEW-MORE-DAYS TRUMP! While watching the events unfold on TV, Trump sat in the White House delighted in the actions that were taking place and encouraging them via tweet to continue on to victory! 

Trump commands the capitol "invasion" - FREE SPEECH???

FEBRUARY 12, 2021: Today is day three.... tune in.... Stand Up! And, Speak Out! 14 Republican Senators refuse to attend as "jurors" on Day 2.  They should all be removed from the “jury” as would occur in any other American courtroom - criminal or civil. Along with the 3 or more “jurors” who personally conspired with Trump’s Defense Attorneys yesterday (Lee, Graham, and Cruz), the removal of those who conspire or fail to attend to evidence and arguments presented would otherwise be illegal and cause removal. The removal of these 17 - who refuse to discharge their Oath of Office as Jurors or Senators would reduce the total jury count to 83. Two-thirds of 83 - reflecting the jury vote required to find Trump GUILTY - would become 55.... and that guilty vote would better reflect the truth. 

REPUBLICAN SENATORS JUDGE.....

Or.... do you believe that murderous mobsters and gang members should be charged, indicted, and placed on trial before a jury made up of GANG MEMBERS conspiring against those who seek truth and justice? Do you think that the Nuremberg Trials held after the defeat of the Nazi War machine in 1945 should have been presented and decided before a jury made up with Nazis assigned as half the Jurors? 

Across the nation, every jury is sworn by oath to be led to a verdict by the facts presented, judge by the facts of the case, and vote their conscience... not their political stripe or their Party membership. We will soon see the outcome.... Guess that we will discover the truth - arrest by arrest. Likely that more than 200 arrests will result... and, when completed, it will be known that ZERO participants in the sedition were associated with the mystery group - AntiFa.... as alleged by the Trump attorneys. You know - ANTI FASCISTS... those who opposed HITLER, MUSSOLINI, and other rabid Dictators. Pro-Democracy advocates were not/are not the “insurrectionist invaders” who tore at the foundation of our Democratic government - and the bedrock of our government - the US Constitution. NO BIG LIE!

EVIDENCE PRESENTED.... IGNORED....

The arrests and records of those participants will show who they are and from whence they came....  Three Percenters, Boogaloos, Q-Anon, MAGA heads, Proud Boys, Anti-Jew groups, White Supremicists, and more.... all pro Trump Dictator and all arrested by the FBI under the leadership of Trump appointees - including the FBI Directors Chris Wray. Fingers will be pointed at the “Deep State”.... though it is right now THE TRUMP STATE. Get on with it... See the truth... accept the facts displayed... and breathe new life into our Democracy, not deconstructing, dismantling, and destroying it brick by brick.

WHERE DO WE GOES FROM HERE????? REVOLUTION IN THE WIND?????

 

The Week of Sedition, insurrection, disinformation, destruction and disgrace...

Events of the last week - in fact, the weeks that followed the election - filled with lies, mis-representation, deception, numerous attempts to CRUSH AND REVERSE the actual outcome of the election and the destruction of the American Democracy - turned my stomach into a knot.  Shocked and sickened by what I witnessed and later followed in reports and comments from Trump appointees - Director of the FBI, Chris Wray, the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon - multiple Members of the Senate and the Congress including Moscow Mitch, House Republican Caucus Chair, Liz Cheney, Speaker Pelosi and soon-to-be Senate Majority Leader Schumer and many others, media commentators - both left and right - these days are a historic interruption of our 231 year system of government.  Adopted as the US Constitution in 1789 and led by our first President, George Washington for two terms of Office following the Articles of Confederation which had failed to forge a new and independent nation, our ship of state has sailed with "fair winds" well into both the 19th and 20th Century.  Interrupted from time to time over a variety of disputes - small and large - we faced and resolved each challenge.  From warfare with others as well as the Civil War in the mid-19th Century, we weathered these storms over more than two centuries. Now, in the first generation of the 21st Century, I recall the song refrain that accompanied our troops - the American Expeditionary Force (AEF) to France in World War under the command of General John Pershing - "Where do we go from here boys, where do we go from here?" 

In the months before the election and the months after, Trump lied time and again charging that his "landslide victory" was STOLEN. In case after case regarding stealing votes, destroying ballots, fraudulent votes cast, illegal voters voting and more, Trump lost more than 60 cases across the nation and two cases at the Supreme Court - including his three appointees!  State after state - Republican Governors, Republican Secretary's of State and Board of Election Chairs were added to the Democratic Official-led states announcing, testifying, and submitting documents that certified the accuracy of each election.  Last month all 50 states CERTIFIED the election outcome in their state and assigned the "Electors" who were selected and appointed into their positions as a result of the candidate who carried the state.  Unlike the 2000 Presidential election that evidenced a narrow 500 vote difference between Bush and Gore, no state in 2020 displayed a microscopic difference.  Each was both solid and certified by all 50 states - Republican or Democratic. Today, 27 States are led by a Republican Governor and 23 by a Democrat.  ALL OF THE STATES CERTIFIED AND REPORTED THE ELECTION RESULTS - BIDEN 306 to Trump 232.  

Both carried 25 states - count them.  But, the Biden popular vote was won by 7,000,000 votes more than Trump.  The result was reflected in the Electoral votes won and the margin between Biden and Trump was 306 to 232 - a margin close to the 2016 votes for Trump at 304 to Hillary's 227. Trump described the 2016 election outcome as "a landslide" although he lost the popular vote by 3,000,000 that year.  This outcome - Biden at 306 to Trump at 232 - Trump described as a "voter fraud" and a "stolen election." (Please note the difference in Electoral vote totals. The 2016 election contained a few "faithless votes" cast in Hawaii, Texas, and Washington states). In any case, the Trump attack on all 50 states - especially those led by a Republican Governor like Georgia, and elsewhere in Pennsylvania and Michigan - were selected to alter the outcome and deny the American nation the decision that was indeed made on November 3rd, 2020 via both E-Day votes cast, early ballots permitted by law, and mail-in ballots consistent with law and from the military stationed away. 

NEXT TRUMP STEPS - POST ELECTION CHALLENGES FAILURE

Having lost the election, Trump initiates plans to overturn the outcome. With the failure of more than 60 court cases across the country, his plan is to build a riotous mob in the Nation's Capitol with weeks of encouragement for them to gather in Washington DC. The day selected by Trump - January 6 - is the day that the Constitution defines as the day that the Congress counts the certified Electoral Votes in a joint session at the Capitol Building held in the House Chamber.  That morning, along with Donald Jr., Rudy Giuliani and others, Trump himself energizes the mob and instructs them to "march" down Pennsylvania Avenue from their gathering near the White House to the Capitol Building with the "STOP THE STEAL DEMONSTRATION and to pressure, argue, protest, and persuade the Members of Congress to REJECT THE CERTIFIED ELECTOR VOTES...  and to bring with them their ladders, spears, pipes, steel bars, and more and to, as Giuliani's speech instructs, "COMBAT" to save the nation for Trump! Instigated, incited, and wrongfully inspired, the resulting seditious mob riot and break-in at the Capitol takes place. Supported and cheered on by some Members of Congress and the Senate - Republicans all - including Ted Cruz and more than 100 House Republican Members, the defenses manned by the Capitol Police collapse, and the Capitol Building is invaded, the elected Members threatened - including Vice President Mike Pence, Speaker Pelosi, and others. 

Trump has denied responsibility.  He has "cursed" his loyal Vice-President Mike Pence who refused to break the law and ignore the Constitution at Trump's insistence, and the violent mob invading the Capitol chanted "HANG MIKE PENCE!" The constant stream of lies emanating from Trump for years and that morning as well led to death squads roaming the rooms of Congress, stealing files and equipment, threatening the elected Members, beating Capitol Police Officers, and destroying doors, windows, and more. 5 lives were lost that day-all at Trump's "call to arms" to "STOP THE STEAL."  

Since that day, some Republicans are second-guessing their votes to block and stop the voting of the Electors as Trump wished for.  Mitch McConnell and some others spoke out against violating the Constitution as did Mike Pence and 10 Republican House Members including Liz Cheney, Chair of the House Republican Caucus.  The TRUMP TITANIC was sinking fast and some headed for the lifeboats. Others, however, did not.... and were preparing to go down with the Trump ship. Trump turned his back on his supporters in some commentary... and cast blame on others, not his MAGA folks, Q-Anon, Proud Boys and other Trumpers....  At one point, blame was cast on a loose group - not present that day.

You well know that "ANTIFA"- the Anti-Fascist activists - had nothing to do with cheering the make-believe Monarch Trump and invading the halls of Congress to disrupt and dismiss the expressed will of the people evidenced by the election of 2020. Trump planned, encouraged, and cajoled them into making the seditious riot, the destructive break-in, and the anti-democracy insurrection to take place that day.  The question is, "where do we go from here?" Impeachment? Indictment? Arrests? Prosecution? Convictions?  Pardons? Prison?  

As we watch these events unfold - the Biden/Harris inauguration 5 days from this writing, an on-going investigation by the FBI and most all of the 50 State Police Units, the arrest of hundreds of those who were a part of the violent mob, a Congressional Investigation regarding the failure to prevent the insurrection and invasion into the Capitol Building, and ongoing stress between Member of Congress. Are the next steps healing?  Or, horrors?  Will we come back together on common ground? Or, will a Trump Revolt of Right-wing extremists transform into "terrorists?"  As the opening lines of this piece recall, "WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE BOYS.... WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?" 

  

THE TWILIGHT ZONE OR TWILIGHT TIME??? AS THE CLOCK TICKS, ARE WE HEADED FOR THE EVE OF DESTRUCTION.... OR A CELEBRATION OF RESCUE FROM A DEAD END???

TRUMP... IN THE TWILIGHT ZONE...

As time goes by day by day....  are we watching the "fuse" burn slowly to ignite a massive EXPLOSION and the DESTRUCTION OF OUR DEMOCRACY? Or, are we watching the Trump "burning bush" slowly burning down into ASH? Are we in the midst of the TWILIGHT ZONE?
Or, is this simply TWILIGHT TIME? 

Just yesterday the Electoral College members gathered in their appropriate locations - some safe and others not so safe - and cast their votes as defined by the votes scored by the candidates for President and Vice President. As foretold, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were designated as President and Vice President Elect. Trump, on the other hand, lost for the second and last time before the Supreme Court (SCOTUS) in a last-ditch attempt out of Texas to frustrate the American elections and voters by reversing the outcome and having himself declared "elected." Again rejected by the Supreme Court - even with three members appointed by himself - President Trump - this loss preceded the meeting of the Electors in their respective states - and cleared the legal path to cast their designated votes for those who carried their states. In the end, of the 538 Electoral votes available and 270 necessary to be declared the President and Vice President Elect, the Biden/Harris Democratic team received 306 votes vs. Trump/Pence with 232 - a clear victory.  Better yet, Biden/Harris scored the highest number of actual votes across the country - 81.3 MILLION VOTES - in the history of the nation. Trump, on the other hand, scored 47% of the votes cast with a total of 74,224,000. 

Trump filed more than 50 court cases to overturn the legitimate election that took place in 2020.  He lost over and over. Yet, Trump continues to attack. His attack targets are Republicans, Democrats, Independents, State Election Officers of either and both parties, Courts - including the Supreme Court of the US, his own Attorney General, his own Federal Election Monitor and investigator, Republican Governors and Secretaries of State, and more. And, even now, Trump continues to attack the outcome, get media air time on right-wing TV, radio, and on-line...  and spew forth poison in his continuing attempt to MURDER OUR DEMOCRACY! This has got to STOP!

Biden, on the other hand, is attempting to soothe the anger that Trump has generated via Q-Anon, the Proud Boys, and others who are attempting to add gasoline to the Trump fire.  "Trumplicans" - Republicans who now have transitions into the TRUMP CULT, have bid a "farewell" to the conservative Republicans of Reagan, Bush, and McCain.  So far, very few elected Republicans have stood up to the Trump threat of "bashing" them when they are next up for election.  In fact, Trump is hinting that he will control the Republican Party, continue the "GRAND CON" of the American Voters, and oppose their next election.  His plan is to add them to the Republican "trash heap" of those who do not genuflect before the Trump throne. A complete disgrace! And, a continuing attack on our Democracy! The Trump "beat" goes on.....  and we must STAND UP! 

So... are we entering the "TWILIGHT ZONE"... or "TWILIGHT TIME???" The song by the Platters in 1958 - "Twilight Time", contains lyrics that read in part, 

                        "Heavenly shades of night are falling... it's twilight time..." 

                        "In the afterglow of day, we keep our rendezvous beneath the blue..... 

                        I fall in love again as I did then... together at last at twilight time."  

I love this country.  And, as I have aged, retired, and worried about the future of our nation after 2016, I hope that the Biden/Harris election and the Trump defeat takes us out of the TRUMP TWILIGHT ZONE of American politics and governing. I pray that the 2020 election brings us back to the nation built on the American Dream, the US Constitution, and our historic governmental norms - beyond Twilight Time.. and into the 21st Century. I want to witness our edging evermore and ever closer to being the global example of democracy, equality, opportunity, and caring for one another - especially those in great need. Perhaps we can return to the phrase that is etched on the Statue of Liberty -

                  "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free... 

                    the wretched refuse of your teeming shore...." 

You and I - all of us - will shape our future...  and tell the tale. As many have this past November 3rd, 2020.... continue to Stand Up! Speak Out! and March On!

NOVEMBER 3RD - ELECTION DAY! .... OR, NOT..... GO VOTE!

 

THE 2020 ELECTION DAY IS UPON US.....  GO VOTE!!!

As I write this Article, early voting on-site has ended.  And, 19 hours from now - at 6 AM, the Polls open in NY State for Election Day.  At this hour, some 93 MILLION VOTES HAVE BEEN CAST! Compared to the last Presidential in 2016, this pre-election vote count is nearly double the early vote cast 4 years earlier and some 68% of the total cast that year. Virtually all of the states have surpassed their comparable 2016 votes and a number of states - North Carolina, Florida, and Georgia - have surpassed 91% or more of their 2016 total vote cast! In Hawaii and Texas, both have already surpassed the total votes cast in 2016... and here comes Election Day!  In Texas, 9.6 million early votes have been cast as of last Friday - more than 700,000 more ballots than were cast in 2016! And, that explains why the Texas Republicans have filed suit to eliminate 127,000 votes cast at drive-throughs approved by the Texas Board of Elections in Harris County - a Dem stronghold. 

BREAKING NEWS! On Friday, the Texas Supreme Court - all Justices there Republicans - ruled against the Texas Republican party case and ordered that the votes are legitimate and shall be counted!

Another sidebar observation is that the youth voters are turning out in droves compared to past elections. People 18-29 have turned out to vote early - a "skyrocket" according to a Tuft's University Report this past weekend. This was particularly true in "battleground" states such as Michigan, Florida, and North Carolina. Soon, we will discover the impact of this generational "transition." 

ANXIOUSLY AWAITING....

Meanwhile, tomorrow the Election Day "Beat" goes on. Regardless of lines, crowds, harassment, and attempts to suppress the turnout, the voters will vote and the election will be done, booked, and won.... though subject to challenge.... Your angst - and mine - why? And, what is to follow?  Will the House survive?  Will the Senate remain with Moscow Mitch at the switch? Or, will the Senate change from Red to Blue with a new majority of Democrats in charge? Can we win enough of the swing states for our Senate candidates to take up control of the upper House in the Congress? Or, will we come close - but fall short.... win the Presidency for Joe Biden but find that Moscow Mitch McConnell can remain in the position of Majority Leader and continue to frustrate the agenda that we support to beat the virus, and to "BUILD BACK BETTER" as Biden has often announced?  

As has been witnessed by us all, the Trump "gang" - Proud Boys, fake-militia, the Texas Trump "Rangers", and other Right-Wing radicals continue to attempt to suppress the vote. Blocking early voting failed - though made less convenient than possible. Filing numerous suits in state and federal courts to impede or disqualify votes legally cast.... so far, failing. And, setting up to challenge the outcome, state for state, alleging "voter fraud" and "fake votes" cast by illegal immigrants and the dead voting from cemeteries. Trump's greatest fear is the driving issue - THE COVID19 VIRUS ISSUE. 

Trump has been "haunted" by the presence and spread of the virus... and by Dr. Anthony Fauci - the leading expert on viral "invasions" and pandemics. In fact, the Obama administration handed over a 600+ page guide to fighting viral battles in the future.  This VIRUS RESPONSE GUIDE - included options, preparations, and planning for a future invasion.  That took place during the transition in late 2016 and early 2017.  Trump and his staff trashed that plan, reduced investments into such an effort as well.  In Trump's view, it was completely unnecessary. After all, he was all about the economy, not healthcare!  And, his pledge - one among many - was to rid the nation of Obamacare.  After all, no sense naming Trumpcare after a Kenyan! Trump and Pence dropped the VIRUS RESPONSE GUIDE that had been built over the past administration's 8 years and several successful virus battles. Instead, they began building a useless and unnecessary Southern Wall. Once the 2020 Campaign began in 2019, the Corona Virus arrived.... and began to dismantle the health of Americans... Seattle and New York first..... and today in the South and Mid-western states. Case counts, hospital overcrowding and mortality - at 1000 a day - has skyrocketed!

The Trump response was to deny its presence... and its impact.  It would just go away... the Spring and Summer sun would eradicate the virus.... it was not serious.... he denied its presence, ignored its impact, and, recently, Trump announced that "we have turned the corner" as the virus declines... time to get back to "normal" business and open the states and schools. The Trump Plan is that what he says - goes!  Last week the White house announced that the Covid-19 virus was "ending." In a press release last week from the White House Office of Science and Technology, listed an accomplishment of Trump's first term as 'ENDING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC." Lie, lie, lie.... Now he publicly charged that Doctors and hospitals are LYING to collect more money, Fauci should be terminated for "lying" and those who support the National SUPERMAN - TRUMP - should genuflect and advance. The Trump goal is to misrepresent and repeat over and over.... and people will buy into the propaganda.... Trump wants to make the election about what he wants - successes and not failures! 

 

FIRST LINE - HEALTHCARE!

Meanwhile, the Covid-19 virus continues to spread....  and has seen a dramatic increase in states that have been under Republican Governors who, in turn, have followed Trump's instructions and example - being irresponsible and ignoring the awful impact on hospitals, healthcare, kids, and adults, schools and factories, and a revenue "bleed" on the state and local levels. First responders, nurses, doctors, healthcare workers, scientists, vaccine developers, nursing facility workers and maintenance folks have been bearing the burden- and the risk - of continuing service.  New virus records have been set - 9 million cases and growing; 230,000 deaths and growing - a number greater than anywhere else on the planet against the backdrop of the most mature, creative, and effective healthcare system of any nation.  Right now, more than 1000 deaths a day and nearing 100,000 new cases identified each day as well.  Hospitals are on the brink of overcrowding, overstressed, and understaffed without adequate equipment available to deal with this denied emergency. Like the Second World War in the Pacific - primarily fought by the American Army, Navy, and Marines.... that threat to our survival and success took a positive turn at Iwo Jima and at Midway with the effort, sacrifice, and sweat of courageous Americans - putting their lives on the line in our defense and for our victory. Today, in the battle against Covid-19, there are many working and sweating, and risking their own lives to win this battle for our survival against a deadly and invisible enemy - the Corona 19 virus.  This is THE ISSUE that stuck! This is the FRONT LINE of the battle for the future!  Join us.... and VOTE TOMORROW!!!

NOWHERE MAN.... (Beatles, 1965): TRUMP UNDER 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE 2020 ELECTION - 40,000,000 VOTES CAST ALREADY....

After 4 years... still... a nowhere man....

Tick.... tock......  Tick.... tock.....  The clock ticks down to 12 days before Election Day - November 3, 2020.  Meanwhile, some 30 million votes have already been cast - by mail, absentee, or early voting - state by state.  I write this on the eve of the last of three scheduled debates - tonight.  

After Trump abused the non-partisan Debate Commission and violated the agreed-upon rules of the debate, speaking over Biden over and over again, being completely discourteous to both Biden and the debate Moderator, Chris Wallace, lying, over-stating false "facts" and ducking questions, his polling fell several points.  

Debate two was cancelled due to Trump contracting Covid. Along with Melania, his son Baron, and a variety of debate-prep staff, Trump was hospitalized for days.  Debate Two - refused by Trump - was transformed into a TV Town Hall by Biden.  Trump set up a "competing" Town Hall on TV at the very same time as the Biden Town Hall.  The Trump viewer count shrunk to 13 million while Biden scored more than 14 million viewers. Biden polling rose while Trump's counts decreased. Trump polling fell again... and Senate Republicans became nervous regarding being "pulled-down" by a negative response to the Trump candidacy. Time to bail out, grab a life-preserver, and survive the "Blue Wave."  Mc Connell and his conspiratorial Republican-Trump colleagues are separating themselves from the Trump Campaign, announcing their local representation and independence from Trump's rhetoric and mis-statements, and hope that they can keep the majority in the Senate and form the "Red Wall" that blocked Obama in the second term and will do the same in applying the policy brakes when Biden sits in the Oval Office.  In McConnell's view - Trump is a "nowhere man." 

How did Trump get there?  What has he failed to do?  What awful things has he done?  The list is MASSIVE.... And, the Republicans in the Senate supported his policy, his positions, and the hurt that Trump inflicted on the American people.  It's time to stand up, speak out, and vote them ALL out.  Lets look.....

THE DEATH OF AMERICANS..... COVID 19

Since January 2020, Trump has ignored the invasion and the rapid spread and mortality of Covid-19. He ignored briefings and refused to prepare for a national health emergency.  Trump stood idly by while the death toll rose... disregarding advice from the CDC, Dr. Fauci, and the rising panic of the medical community. Unlike Obama's response to SARS, ZIKA, and Ebola with a complex plan and response and the Bush administration response to AIDS and Ebola, Trump simply took no responsibility, no leadership, and took no action.  The result was frustration in the medical community, jammed emergency rooms, the rapid spread of the aggressive and deadly virus, and a complete failure that resulted in more American deaths in ten months than the warfare deaths that resulted throughout the 20th Century - added together.  5 TIMES MORE DEATHS IN 11 MONTHS THAN IN 11 YEARS IN VIET NAM...OR ALL THE WAR DEATHS AMERICANS SUFFERED IN THE 21st CENTURY!  

So, what is the Trump response?  ZERO!  In fact, the reverse applies.  Trump has trashes and took every opportunity - via the Congress and/or the Courts - to eliminate medical coverage for American citizens.  Chopping off Medicaid, threatening Medicare, and eliminating a variety of sections of the ACA (Obamacare) via legislation and court challenges, right now Trump has a case before the US Supreme Court that would repeal the ACA if his case should be successful.  

You may recall that Trump and his allies have been before the US Supreme Court twice before on the ACA.  In each case, they lost by ONE VOTE - Republican Chief Justice John Roberts, siding with the Democratic appointees.  In this pending case, with the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg last month and the pending appointment of Amy Barrett next week, this case proceeds before the Court the following week for verbal argument and decision following.  Without RGB, what might be your guess as to the outcome?  The loss of coverage due to Trump's Supreme Court repeal of the ACA and its coverage of all with pre-existing conditions.  All this .... in the face of a rapidly growing Covid19 advance, illness, and mortality.  In his place, would you eliminate health coverage in the face of a growing and deadly virus???

MEANWHILE.... THE AMERICAN ECONOMY COLLAPSES! 

Trump wanted to run on the basis of an American Economy growing steadily. That followed the collapse of the economy under George Bush.  The manufacturing sector fell, the Stock Market crashed and the auto industry in the Northwest in 2007 and 2008.  The stimulus plan initiated by the Obama/Biden administration began the long road back and ended the recession with repeating US GDP and job growth year after year, including 2016.  In fact, the Trump Presidency takes credit for continued growth that began with Obama/Biden, not Trump.  What was the Trump initiative? TAX REFORM? Even before that Act.... Trump only paid $750 (2016, 2017) on an income of millions/billions! 

Compare the job growth data from WWII to date. Note the successes and failures...

 What was the Trump Tax Act of 2017?  A BOON for the wealthy and the large corporations! Corporate profit taxes were cut in half and increased profits dramatically.  The Stock Market rose as did the Trump bank accounts! No increase in the Minimum wage, and, with the inaction in response to the viral invasion, some 40,000,000 in job losses, initial help as demanded, and complete inaction with threats to healthcare generated right now.  No funding for schools, towns, cities, states, counties that lost revenue due to the recession along with and others responsible to handle the outcome of the illness and the job losses resulting.  No thought. No Plan. No action. No caring for others.  That's Trump for you.  Caring for yourself, your friends and the allies of the Monarch - Republican Lords of the Senate and Republican Barons in the House. If I were you, come Election Day I would trade "Trickle Down" Trump for "Bubble Up" Biden! 

Not caring must lead to a consequence for Trump.... It's not a promotion for his lying and corrupt administration with more convictions of those close to him... and pardons for those who support his efforts.... It's not a reward for illegal and improper insistence of chasing, kidnapping, and killing off those who disagree, expose, and oppose your mistakes. It is the lesson learned from the "Apprentice."  For those who's actions damage the entity that you were appointed to work for and advance, as the Trump TV series demonstrated week after week......
